Professor Yusuf Arayici

Yusuf Arayici is a professor in the Built Environment at ֲýƵ, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, where he previously served as Deputy Head of Department and Head of Apprenticeship Programmes in Architecture and Built Environment. With a research career spanning more than two decades, he is internationally recognised for his expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital design, process improvement, energy management, and sustainability. He has successfully conducted leading roles in research projects totalling £10M in funding over his research career, working with both academic and industry partners across the UK, Europe, and internationally. He has also supervised sixteen PhD researchers and numerous MSc students, and authored over one hundred academic papers alongside six influential books on BIM, digitalisation, and sustainability.

His recent research advances focus on Deep Learning and Cognitive Digital Twins for healthcare facilities management, as well as AI-driven point cloud classifications for heritage BIM.
