�ֲ���ý��Ƶ, Newcastle, has risen a staggering 26 places to 3^rd spot in terms of satisfaction levels among overseas students, according to the latest International Student Barometer survey.

The International Student Barometer (ISB) is a global benchmark for the experiences of international students studying in the UK. It tracks and compares their decision-making, expectations, perceptions and intentions from application to graduation. This enables universities to make informed decisions to enhance the international student experience and drive successful recruitment and marketing strategies.

With approximately 34000 students, 23% of whom are international, �ֲ���ý��Ƶ is host to students from over 100 countries who are studying for undergraduate, masters and research degrees.

Northumbria is now outperforming the satisfaction averages both globally and in the UK and is now ranked 3^rd in the UK out of 47 institutions in terms of international student satisfaction.

With first-hand experience of being an international student, Tanvi Rajadhyaksha, of India, who is studying Law and International Business, reflects upon her time at Northumbria, supporting the latest ISB survey results.

“I have loved my experience so far with Northumbria and Newcastle as people have been the friendliest they can be,” she said. “I’ve made, and am always making, new friends through the volunteering opportunities at the Students’ Union. This also helps me develop my skills.”

Northumbria also has welfare and international advisers on hand to offer free, confidential guidance and support on a wide range of issues surrounding immigration/visas, working in the UK, and student finance.

�ֲ���ý��Ƶ’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), Professor Jon Reast, said: “This result demonstrates just how successful Northumbria is at attracting international students – a fact endorsed by the results that come from the students themselves. It is pleasing to see the sharp climb we have made as a university. This is no mean feat considering we have thousands of students from more than 100 countries studying our course.

“These students return to their home countries at the end of their studies and are ambassadors for not only Northumbria, but also the North East and for studying in England. The fact that they are enjoying their time here at Northumbria is a very positive indicator of how they will describe their time in the UK.”
