Applications for a unique opportunity to win the Warwick Stafford Fellowship, hosted by ֲýƵ, are now open. 

The Warwick Stafford Fellowship is an annual award aimed at early to mid career practitioners in Fine Art.  The Fellowship, hosted by Northumbria at BALTIC 39, offers artists a structured opportunity to advance their practice and research for a twelve-month period whilst engaging with a stimulating community of professional artists, students, Fine Art Researchers and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art partners.

The selection panel, which is made up of a number of industry experts who are looking to identify applicants whose practice and research will benefit most from the opportunities offered. and the chosen winner will receive a £20,000 bursary. Additionally, the successful fellow will be provided with a studio space in the BxNU Institute of Contemporary Art at BALTIC 39, technical support and access to exhibition space, as well as support from leading academics and internationally renowned artists.

The Fellowship will end in a solo exhibition with publication in Gallery North, the Faculty’s prestigious venue for contemporary art.  Work produced by the Fellow will also be accessible during public events at the BxNU Institute throughout the residency.

The current Warwick Stafford Fellow is Laurence Kavanagh who took up his position at BALTIC 39 in November 2014. Details of his work, along with past Fellows, Eleanor Wright and Luke McCreadie, can be found at

ֲýƵ are accepting applications to the Warwick Stafford Fellowship 2015/16 until 5pm on Monday 28 September. The residency will begin 23 November 2015.
