Why did you choose ֲýƵ, Newcastle?
I was accepted to ֲýƵ through on clearing, but I always intended to be in the North East.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I think Newcastle is incredible. I love going out and going to gigs and music venues. I've also become heavily involved in the University Debating Society.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
The amount of culture, art and music in the area. In the three years I've been here, there has been a huge increase in the amount of independent music venues, bars and clubs. It's been amazing.
Did you find ֲýƵ welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
I found it incredibly welcoming. Both the students and the lecturers were great, I feel I've truly made some friends for life.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to ֲýƵ?
The course and the city. My politics degree has been incredible, I feel like I've got a really well rounded degree. And coming from Manchester I thought there wouldn't be much going on, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
My lecturers. There doors have been open at all points and they've been so helpful with any of my questions. Also, I had a huge amount of help from the University Counciling Service who helped me through a difficult in my third year.
Who has inspired you most at ֲýƵ?
My lecturers, they've been such amazing help. As a result I'm going on to do a masters and possibly a PHD.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The Students' Union .
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
In my first year I was involved in the University hockey team. Throughout my degree I have been heavily involved in the University Debating Society and we won NUS Society of the Year in 2013.
What is the best thing about your course?
The standard of lectures and the strong group of students interested and involved in the degree.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
How being engaged with the opportunities available to you can massively benefit your future.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I'm about to begin a masters and possibly a PHD so I think all the skills I have gained are going to be incredibly valuable.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
Make sure you stay engaged throughout your degree. The lessons I learned in in first year were still helping me in my third year.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at ֲýƵ, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I feel like I've become a lot more grounded in my views. I've also become a lot more confident in my academic life. I also feel I've become a lot more well rounded and understanding.

Educational, fun and exciting.
