Where are you from?

Leeds

Why did you choose ֲýƵ, Newcastle?

The course content and a good distance from home.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

A city that has it all, as a mature student I like socialising but also like just quiet nights out Newcastle has, everything for nights out and shopping and just has a great vibe about it even down to the New Years celebrations within the city.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I just enjoy being here, it's a great city.

Did you find ֲýƵ welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

I thought I'd struggle being a mature student but when I arrived at Northumbria, there's a big mix of both young and old and everyone fits in, I also joined the Dance Society, having never danced, and they still all welcomed me and I've made lots of friends.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to ֲýƵ?

The course is fab and the societies are great fun!

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

The lecturers have been amazing and always there to help!

Who has inspired you most at ֲýƵ?

My lecturers.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The Students' Union.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I joined the Dance Society, never really danced and in March I took part in the dance show - it was great!

What is the best thing about your course?

The mix of content that we learn.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Time management and trying not to spend my loan all at once!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to become a Housing Manager within the social housing team.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Definitely go along to an Open Day and meet lecturers and students.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at ֲýƵ, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I'm more confident, outgoing and feel better in myself for doing something useful and something that will benefit me in the future.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Amazing, unforgettable, unreal.

Would you recommend ֲýƵ to a friend?
