Gateshead

Why did you choose ֲýƵ, Newcastle?

I chose ֲýƵ because it had the course that I wanted to study and it was close from home.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I think Newcastle and Gateshead are both nice places, it has different areas each offering new sights, and experiences. The nightlife, dining out, fantastic shopping, the inspiring heritage, and acclaimed architecture are all good features of both Newcastle and Gateshead.

Did you find ֲýƵ welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, very welcoming indeed! The first day I arrived I made friends quiet easily, and everyone was very nice and I didn't feel left out which was great, I even became friends with students on different courses, years, and nationalities - I loved it.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to ֲýƵ?

Meeting new people, the facilities which are offered to students and my course.

What is your favourite place on campus?

I don't really have a favourite place, enjoy every places on campus.

What is the best thing about your course?

The people and the lecturers.

To be confident when you have an idea or a point you want to make say it, don't be shy or think it's silly or that it wont matter because it does. Be confident in what you know and do. Secondly, be yourself.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Architectural Technologists.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have been on my year-out placement with the NBS, which was a really good experience, and I think that it was during my placement that I started to come out more, talking and being confident with things that I undertake. The people at my placement were all wonderful, especially my manager, he was a great person and I learned a lot from him.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Go for it! You will enjoy.
