Expressions of Interest: Research Fellowships at Northumbria

Fellowship opportunities are designed to support early career researchers to develop an independent research career at a UK research institution.  New opportunities will be added to this page as they open for expressions of interest. Please see below for current opportunities.

ECR STEM Fellowships (Autumn Deadlines): express your interest

A number of funders will shortly release calls for early career STEM fellowships with Autumn submission deadlines. These are highly competitive awards, and some schemes restrict the number of applications a single institution may submit.  If you are considering applying for one of the fellowships listed below and would like to be hosted at �ֲ���ý��Ƶ, please complete our and email us your CV by the dates shown below.

Full steps to submitting your expression of interest

1. Before applying, read the funder guidance, particularly the eligibility criteria to ensure you will be able to submit a proposal if you are selected. Links to funder guidance are also included in the Expression of Interest form (links to last year's call if this year's call has not yet been formally announced, please be aware that guidance may change between rounds).
2. Before applying, speak to a member of academic staff in the School where you intend to be hosted to ensure you have a supportive mentor. Royal Society Fellowships: To help you find a supportive mentor, click here to view Our Schools, Our People, and our . Please note that you will need to reach out directly to individuals as we are unable to broker links between prospective applicants and potential mentors. STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowships: For queries on departmental fit, please contact Professor James McLaughlin james.a.mclaughlin@northumbria.ac.uk in the first instance.
3. Complete the by the deadline given.  If you are interested in more than one fellowship, please start a new expression of interest form for each opportunity. You will have the option to submit another response at the end.
4. Submit your CV by email by the deadline given to our Research Office at rm.research.development@northumbria.ac.uk. You only need to do this once regardless of how many times you complete the form.
