My research interests centre upon undertanding how glaciers and ice sheets respond to climate change. This includes using satellite imagery and numerical ice flow models to record how glaciers have responded to past change, and how they may respond to future changes in the atmosphere and surrounding oceans. I am also interesting in using statistical methods to estimate uncertainties in projections of future sea level rise.
At present, I am working on the (Tipping Points in Antarctic Climate Components), which investigates the possibility of sudden and large changes in Antarctic climate components. During this project I will use an ice flow model to assess the stability of the grounding lines of the Antarctica, and the existence of tipping points.
